RE: NECRONOMICON - Fact or Fantasy?
Naw - been watching some old eps of Buffy, which makes me think of vamps, which makes me think of dragons and dragon courts and vampyre traditions and then of course biting... its all about the SM.

RE: NECRONOMICON - Fact or Fantasy?
biteing is the fun part......i have heard a lot of different "theories" on the orgins of the vampyre traditions...most have of course been from a "biblical" point of view, as well as questionable on their own orgins as well. can you give any clarification on how they tie in with the Anunaki? i really only know one person that has any knowlrdge in the history of the races but his understandings are, well, incomplete.

I personally would like to remain clear and free of that silver bullet, so I will do one better, and direct to the shoulders I have stood on in this lifetime - even if this is actually not supposed to be available on the web - which is one of the problems in surviving being a writer if you can't fall back on other things. The Babylonian tradition that the famous Simon work, for example, is based on is not "mythical" - it was actually used thousands of years ago. The whole "Arab legend" associated with it, however, is what many debate about. Greetings, If you want to get some updated info with Lovecraft and the mythos and how the Mad Arab all fit's. Do some search's on PDF's from Parker Ryan, he really fit's alot of things together. He did 3 different PDF's which are all free. I don't have the Titles handy but should be easy to find, someone probably posted about this already but If not it's worth looking into. This below is also interesting as it fit's in with Lovecraft's Mythos.. There is a book I found called The Way of the Shaman by Michael Harner and he details a experience that he had while taking a Drink of the Vine in the Amazon with other Shaman's and he talks about a entity telling him about the beging of Life as it was safe to tell him as he was dieing, it talks about how a race of beings like Cthulhu Landed on Earth after being chased by other beings. He was able to tell the shamans he needed medicine which saved him from Death. The other Shaman's he told the story to said they had seen it as well. There is more to it but when I read it it sounded like Lovecraft's Ancient Gods as they traveled through space by there own bodies as they did not have Space Ships. Sort of goes along with the saying When the Stars are Right! Anyway, it's worth reading and there is more to the story. I hope you find this useful.. SilverWolf |

hi silverwolf, you are new here but i should tell you that "pdf" is a dirty word around here
also our understanding of the necronomicon is not specifically restricted to lovecraft and no one seems to know who this cody is or if hes still around. we generally discuss our mardukite work and the writings of our nabu on here. hopefully you have some of these works. perhaps we will get to know you better in the private forum.

Knowledge is knowledge, no matter the medium. My first copy of the Necronomicon was a pdf-at the time i was too poor to buy it from borders. It sure beats hand-copying pages like i did with Crowley's book of lies.

RE: NECRONOMICON - Fact or Fantasy?
I understand.
Some of us, however, are forced to be in a position to do this for life. Someone always has to. Until such a time when it is self-sustaining, the teacher must always be given food and shelter. Since we live in the world we do, that generally is only accomplished via currency regardless of the plethora of good intentions. Its challenging to be on either end, as I and many have experienced as well, it can also be difficult to understand anothers position in the sense of the work involved. One person is an artist of hamburger flipping, another of plumbing another of books, we all must find a way to succeed in the world based on what we are given and should be rightly compensated in kind. In another world we might trade in kind our talents but for the moment are restricted primarily to a system that does it in currency. Otherwise we all die from exposure starving. LOL |
