By self-honestly, do you mean we are programmed to be thinking of this world dishonestly? Or was it specifically designed to be dishonest?

The term "self-honesty" refers to the experience of reality free of worldly and social conditioning - not very easy to accomplish in this day in age - but then again - was it ever?

Why is that self-honesty? Should it not be simply, being honest to one self? One of the biggest problems is the delusion that one is honest to the self (or the acceptance that they are not!) - ego, in other words.

I think the point is that being simply honest with ourselves is not possible without freeing ourselves from worldly and social conditioning. In other words, the ego always get in the way until we do so. I'm not saying we should destroy the ego, only to have a self-honest one. Like detaching from the ego while still have a sense of self, not being some empty spiritual drone, because every man and every woman is a star. It's called self-honesty mainly because of a lack of better semantic - like the term god.

But isn't being honest with one self about the world/social conditioning a step in self-honesty? The ability to recognize such programming is necessary to even consider yourself self-honest.

i dont think you can actually "destroy" the ego and still exist in the physical world as a "fragmented" entity who can say "I" but the beliefs overlaying this "identity" certainly do affect how we interact with our world which in turn affects our reality.
