After the humans set in charge had there go at it for a while, the Mardukite legacy of Egypt and Babylon fell into the ‘underground’ as the political and religious factions of the ‘classical’ Greeks and later Romans came into power. By this time, however, most of the Anunnaki and their legions had returned to the outer realms by one means or another. Many had realized the physical effects of spending so long on earth – in essence, the gods were dying.”
