Mesopotamian Babylonian Sumerian Anunnaki Necronomicon Magick
![]() posted from the Mardukite NecroGate. Thought to mean “Dead Names” or “Laws of the Dead” from the Greek language, the word “Necronomicon” may very well have been the product of a creative or guided imagination from H.P. Lovecraft. This does not discredit the idea behind the book – an anthology of Cthonic, lost, forgotten, ancestral or “dead” lore. Most skeptics argue against any legitimate presentation of the book, and yet these are often the same obsessed Lovecraftian fanatics who claim they wish there was one… …come out from under your rock, behind the guises of Hollywood gore and THINK FOR YOURSELF! The English version of the “Necronomicon” that debuted in the 1970’s under the editorship of Simon is certainly not the same work that Lovecraft alludes to in his Cthulhu Mythos. Again, this does not invalidate the materials given, it just requires the Seeker to look a little bit deeper than gothic fantasy. The operable system behind the practical “Necronomicon” work conducted by Seekers in the last three decades is hardly a revival interest in some “Wierd Tales” and abysmal pantheon – instead we are directed to ancient Sumer, Babylon and the like. A self-honest analysis of the two shows that this would make much more sense than the revival of egregore worship in Lovecraftian deities. Essentially, you can take any aspect in the universe, create a sigil and a name and evoke it into existence. The artificial creation of “elementaries” via sex magick has been very common among the more deviant types. The Simonian work that predates our current Mardukite work, so closely mirrors ancient tablets and yet there are many disparities which is what prompted us to develop the NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE (edited by Joshua Free). We, much like Simon, saw the essence of the work also being a “Necronomicon,” far more complete than what has been offered to Seekers in the past. Had we (or Simon) simply released the work under a more generic title connecting it to Sumerian and Babylonian sorcery and the translation of various Akkadian and Chaldean tablets, then it might not be subject to the same “debates” over the semantics of the title – but then, no one would ever recognize it for what it is. It takes people like Sitchin and movies like the “Fourth Kind” to get people to open up their mind just a little bit to accept something that was not readily available to their parents’ generation – and so, this is called progress! The evaluation of the system as a practical tradition and process of devotion to the original entities that were later known by other cultures under other names, and other grimoires under different hierarchies, is most potent by a “return to the source tradition,” and in response to the work in our huge NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE, further details concerning the establishment of a true and faithful relationship with the Anunnaki figures as they originally appeared, has been released in a Mardukite version of the GATES OF THE NECRONOMICON (Joshua Free / Sarah Banas). Whether your interest might be in the Lovecraftian side or the Mesopotamian side, the Mardukite work is fast setting the standard for what a powerful revival of this ancient tenet may mean through our priceless literary work available on the NecroGate. |

RE: Mesopotamian Babylonian Sumerian Anunnaki Necronomicon Magick
as i understand it: the original necronomicon was writen aprox around 730 a.d. by abdul alhazred, (an arab, though curiously enough no arabic copy is known to exist) theretically in damascus. there were several historians/authors (whos names i am uncertain of off hand) to locate an arabic copy. with that said, i have been unclear of the language he scribed the original in. in 1487 a dominican priest of german decent, olaus wormius (i have my speculations of the true acuracy of this name) transcribed it into latin. this did not occur in the 17th century as lovecraft depicts. it is primarily beleived it came into his possesion during the persacution of of the spanish moors. he was later charged with heresy and burned after sending a copy to johann tritheim abbot of spanhiem. the attempt was made to seize and destroy all copies though some still maintain that a copy made it into the vatican library. in 1580-something showed up in prague. after some adues that i would have to completely research again instead of simply consult my notes, the english magician john dee suposedly translated it into english, though it was never printed. the manuscript then passed ultimately through a private collector to the bodleian library. it then disapeared after a break in 1934 and every other known copy of the wormius printing has since simply disapeared (much of which was acredited to hitler and his ss). exactly which library/collection the stollen artifact came from that simon unltamately aquired the copy he translated i am still uncertain of at this point.

A very concise history of the legend, Krys, thank you. I should mention for clarity (of others) that what you are saying is about specifically "Lovecraftian" aspect.
