RE: "Underworld / Otherworld" Crossings & the Descent of Inanna-Ishtar (Liber N)
I've been working to get away from the "magick" semantics for a while. Thought I've written on these subjects at face value, I find that the semantics can be limiting when people have so much preconceived ideas regarding 'magick' and 'occult' and even 'science' for that matter.

What is this, old home week? :) For me, everything seems limiting these days . . . every door, wall, phrase, idea, solid base, it's all limiting. . . and at the end of the day, that feels exactly right, that it should be so. Hold on to nothing, because any belief, life raft, sustainable concept, is limiting, certain, or not, safe, or not. Everything is in a state of flux today, that goes without saying, right? We are not solid anymore, neither is reality or any idea we have of what is real or not. It is only fluid and it seems that is as it was meant to be, no? In this time, and in this place, i.e., planet earth, or should I say, spaceship earth. . . don't even try to hold on, to a belief, an insight, a person, an idea, it's all up for grabs. And even everything I just said is the same, up for grabs and mist. . . |

RE: "Underworld / Otherworld" Crossings & the Descent of Inanna-Ishtar (Liber N)
There's acknowledgement to be offered to Crowley and the Thelemic approach, as well as many of those who came out of the 'magical revival' of the late 19th century and early 20th century, figures usually tied somehow to the Golden Dawn (GD), Argentum Astrum (AA) or the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO) -- but it seems as though, just like many of the other systems that have come and gone in the past 4,000 years (since the Aries fragmentation) that our 'enlightenment evolution' must allow for a 'next generational' approach that is not fixed on what or how our predecessors were able to comprehend 'knowledge' and other subjective experiential perceptions. Thus, we are now trying to go 'beyond' what it is our forefathers were doing.

Its what drew me to study the occult in the first place. What you write about, Nabu, and all who studied before you and i, is about the bigger picture. Science, religion, math, and philosiphy as subjects cannot paint a picture on their own. But as you blur the lines between them the picture becomes more apparent. I'm enjoying the forums btw. Your approach is much more objective than anythine else ive been reading.

"Objective" is an excellent term to use. I try to call the same thing essentially "self-honesty" which is the ability to perceive the wholeness and unity, the singular true reality of existence, without all the filtering and paradigms that have developed in the name of 'knowledge'.
I'm glad you're enjoying the public forum. |
